Big fish like big baits: Table Rock Locals May See Less Advantage

Big fish like big baits: Table Rock Lake is known for its spotted bass population as well as the quality largemouth and some giant smallmouth that show up from time to time. I’ve caught the biggest spotted bass of my life fishing there. As well as some picture worthy smallmouth. This is shaping up to be a great tournament with the largemouth bass on fire right now. NRX 803S JWR Drop Shot Rod

The G. Loomis NRX 803S JWR drop shot rodĀ and the NRX 852S JWR have been awesome additions to my arsenal. Both have enough flex in the tip and the right parabolic bend to launch light drop shot rigs into the wind when it’s needed but these are drop shot specific rods. Weightless Worms They are not the best for ned rigs or shaky heads. Grab a Mossyback or something else for that presentation that needs a hookset.

Go Eat a Bird!!!

Go Eat a Bird!!!

Go Eat a Bird!!! Bought a Save Phace now I am glad I did after reading a friends blog.

The story goes like this. Guy has a fast bass boat like a lot of us do. Running loaded down fairly well on a lake with heavy boat traffic that day. The pair were flying down the lake headed off to the next spot. That is when a group of coots surprisingly came out of nowhere. One of the biggest and slowest birds hit the trolling motor with the boat going about 70 miles and hour. Another bird hit the console and then hit the driver directly in the face.

OMG! Smallie!!!!

OMG! Smallie!!!!

Big Smallmouth Days This past week was a dream for any smallmouth fanatic — we caught and filmed an epic run of trophy fish. Several smallies topped 6 lbs, and five fish we weighed all broke the 5 lb mark on a digital scale. Every bite was a reminder why chasing these giants is just plain electric. It was a mixed-bait bonanza: jerkbaits, football jigs, crankbaits, and lipless cranks all drew heavy strikes.
