Kansas has been in a bad drought for a while and most of the lakes in KS have really taken it hard, so every little bit of rain is a graciously appreciated.
As those cold fall rains make it to the lakes, I think about the cooling waters and the fall jerkbait fishing that I find so fun.
Early Fall Bass Fishing – Perry Lake Game Plan This weekend’s tournament takes place about 20 miles north of Topeka, Kansas, on Perry Lake. It’s only my second time on this lake—the first was last weekend when I spent about four hours scouting. Right now, Perry is 4 feet above normal pool due to downstream flooding.

Big Smallmouth Days This past week was a dream for any smallmouth fanatic — we caught and filmed an epic run of trophy fish. Several smallies topped 6 lbs, and five fish we weighed all broke the 5 lb mark on a digital scale. Every bite was a reminder why chasing these giants is just plain electric.
